Production continues on new QC Pride in Memory documentary
Filming continues on the QC Pride in Memory documentary "Our Story: Pride in Memory" (working title). Filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Moline, Illinois-based Fourth Wall Films have conducted over a dozen interviews for the project, with more in the works in early 2025.
The Rundles were awarded their fifth Mid-America Emmy in October for their new documentary "Resurrecting Forest Grove." They have produced over 22 award-winning documentaries together. Most recently the husband-and-wife team interviewed Loretta Gamble and Linda Nimrick about their story.
"We had a wonderful time talking to Linda and Loretta on-camera, and learning about their individual life experiences, how their love story began and how it has stayed so strong all these years later," said Tammy Rundle, producer/writer. "They are so fun, and while the discussion was very serious, they had us laughing pretty hard at times during the interview. Viewers will thoroughly enjoy them. We have met so many amazing people through this film project."
Our Story: Pride in Memory shines a light on the untold history of the Illinois-Iowa Quad Cities’ LGBTQ+ community. From the guarded 1950s, AIDS, and gay marriage to current attempts to roll back LGBTQ+ rights, the film reveals the story of a personal and local civil rights movement.
The new documentary features the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ residents through illuminating on-camera interviews and combines them with compelling archival images, documents, and film footage to tell an inspiring story of struggle, achievement, and pride.
The documentary film project is currently in the fundraising phase, with grant writing underway to complete production, and move the project into post-production (editing/completion) to begin in 2026. With fundraising in place, the project could be completed and premiere in 2028. We are truly grateful to all of the contributors who have helped to keep this important film project moving forward.
